The National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP), set to expire on March 11, 2022, was reauthorized by Congress through an omnibus spending bill, passed by the Senate on March 10, 2022.  This package allows for federal government funding through the remainder of Fiscal Year 2022, ending on September 30, 2022, and extends NFIP to this date.  With this extension, new flood insurance policies can be written and existing policies can be renewed.  On April 1, 2022, existing policies will be subject to Risk Rating 2.0.
