CSFI Joined by Louisiana Insurance Commissioner in Meeting to Review RR2.0 Concerns
The Coalition for Sustainable Flood Insurance (CSFI) convened virtually and in-person today to continue discussions on RR2.0’s ongoing implementation. At the meeting, the Coalition emphasized continued concerns about communication and affordability, noting the need for FEMA to share more information regarding risk factors and their weighting. In attendance alongside Coalition members, Louisiana Insurance Commission Jim Donelon expressed his support for greater transparency regarding NFIP premiums, given potential financial impact to property owners. Through a continuing resolution extending government funding, passed on December 3, Congress has extended NFIP’s authorization until February 18, 2022. CSFI continues to look towards short- and long-term reform priorities, while advocating for appropriate administrative action by FEMA, in advance of RR2.0’s impact on existing policies beginning on April 1, 2022.
